Understanding Mahjong Game Rules
Mahjong is traditionally a four-player game where players compete to form a winning hand. Your objective is to arrange your tiles into four sets (either triplets or sequences) and one pair. Here’s how the game works:
Starting the Game: Each player begins with 13 tiles, while the dealer gets 14 tiles.
Taking Turns: Players take turns drawing and discarding tiles, aiming to complete a winning combination as quickly as possible.
Winning the Game: The first player to form four sets (triplets or sequences) and one pair declares “Mahjong” and wins the game. The game ends, and the player’s score is calculated.
Game Continuation: If no one wins before all tiles are drawn, the game ends in a draw.
Tile Combinations in Mahjong
In Mahjong, there are several tile combinations you can use to form your winning hand. Here’s a quick guide:
Pong (Triplet): A set of three identical tiles (e.g., three 2-bamboo tiles).
Chow (Sequence): A set of three consecutive tiles in the same suit (e.g., 4, 5, 6 of circles).
Kong (Quadruplet): A set of four identical tiles. This grants an extra turn.
Pair: Two identical tiles (e.g., two 8-character tiles).
Game Outcome
Once you collect four sets (triplets or sequences) and one pair, you declare “Mahjong” and win the game! The round ends, and points are tallied based on the complexity of your combinations. The player with the most valuable hand wins the round!
Now that you know how to play, it’s time to test your skills! Good luck, and may your Mahjong abilities lead you to victory and real money rewards!
